High School Retreat Theme: Time to Build

Whether we notice it or not, we are building our lives every single day. Not with wood, stone, hammers, or nails, what we are building forms our belief systems, how we see God, ourselves, and the world, and those beliefs shape our faith.

In 1 Corinthians 3, Paul reminds us that there is only one true foundation—Jesus Christ—and that everything we build on top of it will one day be tested. The question is, what kind of house are you building? Are your beliefs built on truth, or in something that won’t last?

This session invites you to take an honest look at the home you’re building—the foundation it rests on, the structure it’s becoming, and the things that fill its rooms—so that your life stands strong when the storms come and the fire tests its strength.
