79er's camp is a great chance for your 7th-9th grader to have a blast at camp. With great lessons and small group time your camper will leave knowing more about Christ when they arrived. Campers will also go outside their comfort zone with the chance to go on the zipline, giant swing, climbing tower, have fun swimming, playing camp games, and so much more. Campers, you won’t want to miss this!
Camp Specific Info
Theme: Gravitate
Key Verses: James 4:8- "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you..."
There are things and people in this world that we instinctively gravitate towards, factors that have a gravitational pull on our lives. Each of us has hopes and desires as we move closer or farther from God. God desires to rescue us, his children! If we want to gravitate towards the path that leads to life (Matt. 7:13-14), our desires must change. This also means our heart must change, surrendering our desires to God and choose his ways. His ways are always for our good and for his glory. As we gravitate toward God, others will notice and have the opportunity to gravitate toward God as well!
Our goal for the week is to grow deeper in our faith together as God draws us near, build a deeply rooted community, enjoy Butler Springs beautiful campus, and make memories that are sure to last a lifetime. At camp, your Middle Schooler can expect to:
-Gain an understanding that our natural desires are in rebellion to God’s ways. Because our hearts are deceitful (Jer. 17:9), our first instinct is to move towards things that are not good for us.
-Recognize God’s loving intervention in our lives. God chose to move towards us first by meeting our desperate need for a Savior through Jesus.
-Discover the daily steps needed to move closer and closer to God. As our relationship with God grows stronger, the stronger we’ll want it to grow.
-See that their relationship with God impacts more lives than their own. Following in the footsteps of Jesus invites others to follow him, too.
